CORE week, featuring the Impact of Immigration on Firms, Human Capital and Productivity Conference
The Collaboration of Research Economists (CORE) model combines frontier research and an innovative delivery method to advance collaboration within the economics profession.
The CORE model consists of eight CORE Weeks per year. During each week, visiting economists from a range of disciplines will join with Richmond Fed economists for seminars, conferences, and formal and informal networking and collaboration—all with an eye toward advancing economic research.
The fifth installment of CORE week featured an impressive lineup of visiting economists who presented across a variety of topics, all outlined below. The week culminated with the Impact of Immigration on Firms, Human Capital and Productivity Conference, which addressed many questions on topics related to immigration, some of which included: What role does immigration policy play in economic growth? How does the quality of college-educated workers differ across the country? Do firms that hire more skilled immigrants perform better than firms that do not?
